Pastor Brent McGuire
Pastor McGuire was born in 1973 in Abilene, Texas. He majored in economics at Harvard University. After spending a year in law school at the University of Texas in Austin, he attended Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, graduating in 2000. He also received from Concordia Seminary his Master of Sacred Theology degree in 2011. In 2004, he was ordained at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he presently serves as senior pastor.
Pastor McGuire thoroughly enjoys working with the congregation's day school. The children get to know Pastor not only through his leading chapel services each month and teaching religion classes throughout the year but also through his treating four students each week to tea and cookies. (The conversations at "Tea with Pastor" are never dull; however, Pastor has had to institute a two-cube limit on the sugar.)
Pastor McGuire lives with his wife Jill and daughters, Annie and Erin.
Pastor Michael Schuermann
Pastor Michael Schuermann
Pastor Schuermann was born in 1979, in Grand Island, NE. He grew up in northern Illinois, majored in music (percussion) at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, and played professionally in the Kansas City area before moving to central Illinois with his wife, Katie. He attended Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2010. He was ordained at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and he presently serves there as Assistant Pastor.
Pastor Schuermann spends time working with the congregation's youth - overseeing the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and the youth groups. He, along with Pastor McGuire, preaches on Sundays, teaches bible classes throughout the month, and visits congregation members throughout the week. He also assists at the congregation's school by assisting with school chapel and helping to teach 6th grade religion.
Pastor Schuermann is an avid hobbyist photographer, enjoys reading, is a bit of a gadget geek, and loves spending time outdoors with his wife, Katie.
