Clubs & Groups

Young and old, we all share share the common bond of Christ. We enjoy each other's company and the fellowship of believers. Whether it's reading and discussing a current novel, watching a movie, sewing a quilt or hearing someone speak on how we can become more involved, each club and group has a unique place within our church life.

Careciples

Larry Hite Careciple: Named in memory of Larry Hite, a man of deep faith and a supportive church member, this careciple is a group of men and women who meet at 7:00 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month from September through May.  Led by Ray Maturi, the group is currently viewing a DVD by Dr. Paul Maier called "The First Three Centuries of Christianity.”  After study and discussion time, the group enjoys refreshment and fellowship.  The Larry Hite Careciple meets at Bev Hite's home and invites all to come and proclaim God’s word with us.

Crofford Careciple: The Crofford Careciples have a 20-year history here at Our Redeemer.  They meet the first Sunday, September through May, with a few exceptions (such as conflicts with the Superbowl).  The group begins at 6:00 p.m. with friendly conversation followed by dessert.  After fellowship, the study begins with a 25-minute DVD on Lutheran doctrine or worship followed by discussion.  One of the annual highlights  is a potluck Christmas dinner at the December meeting. The evening closes by 8:00 p.m. with prayer based on requests from those present.  Members are predominately seniors; however, the group invites participation of any age.

The Good News Careciple: This is a new careciple group. This group was organized by Joyce Niebes and is currently taught by Pastor Schuermann. It is open to all and meets on the second Sunday of the month at 6:30 p.m., September through May. Currently, the Gospel of John is being studied, with participation and discussion by the group.  The study is opened and closed with prayer.  Each month we begin with dessert and fellowship, followed by an hour (approximately) of Bible study.  The Good News Careciple is currently held in the home of Joyce Niebes.  The goup invites all to join us as we study God's Word.

Ladies Circles

Ladies Circles meet monthly September through May. All women are invited to any circle of their choice.

Ruth Mary Circle: The Ruth Mary Circle is a group of ladies of all ages and backgrounds who proclaim their faith through fun and fellowship mixed with Bible study and service projects.  They are currently studying a series called "Jesus Speaks to Me."  The circle meets the second Monday of each month (Sept. to May) at 7:00 pm in the Senior Center except for the December Christmas party and May Salad Supper which are held in members’ homes.  Members work on an annual service project of health kits for Lutheran World Relief each spring and support other missions with monetary donations as needed.
