Music at Our Redeemer
Our Sanctuary Choir rehearses every Thursday between Labor Day and Memorial Day and sings in worship three times per month. The repertoire includes hymn settings, psalms, and anthems that proclaim God's Word and encourage the congregation's song. This group is for high-school age through adult and rehearses at 7:15 p.m. in the choir room.
Our Sanctuary Bells rehearse every Thursday between Labor Day and Memorial Day and play in worship about once per month. We are blessed with a three-octave Schulmerich hand-bell set and a new three-octave choir-chime set. The Sanctuary Bells present special voluntaries and add flare to the hymn accompaniments. Rehearsals are held at 6:00 p.m. in the choir loft.
These students, grades 7 -12, work together as singers and instrumentalists to perform during worship services. Rehearsals are held following the 10:45 service in the choir room. Lunch is provided.
These children, 3rd-6th grade, sing together from 10:10-10:30 every Sunday at the end of Sunday school hour. They sing at the late service two or three times per semester and present a special program on Christmas Eve.
Sunday School Music
These children, 3 year old-2nd grade, sing together from 10:15-10:30 every Sunday at the end of Sunday school hour. They participate in a special program on Christmas Eve.
Instrumentalists are a huge blessing and addition to our worship life. Anyone skilled as a wind, string, or percussion player is encouraged to give their talents in worship. To play on Sundays, an instrumentalist should be able to sight read a hymn melody and play with pleasant intonation and timbre.
We are greatly blessed in our Sunday worship by our Triune God, who gives us His gifts. Through the gifts of Word and Sacrament, we receive forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation. In our music we acknowledge these great gifts, give God praise, and thankfully repeat back what He has said to us. Our worship life at Our Redeemer is greatly enhanced by our ensembles, which always have room for more musicians.
