Second Semester is off and running at Our Redeemer!  We have many academic, athletic, and just plain fun activities that occur during the second semester. 

During the month of January, our students look forward to participating in the annual school academic fair.  This year we are focusing on Science with a Science Fair on January 22.  Students in PK2 thru Sixth grade will present a variety of projects that they have been working on in class and at home.  Our upper grade students will also be competing in the Math Contest and the Spelling Bee.

Our Basketball season has officially begun, as well.  The students in grades 4-6 enjoy being able to participate in this athletic endeavor with their peers.  Besides learning to play a team sport, our students also have the opportunity to learn about Christian sportsmanship.  At Our Redeemer we compete with several other Lutheran schools and we all enjoy the athletic experience.

 The month of February will bring more sports, school days and fun.  We will enjoy Valentine’s Day, President’s Day (a school holiday), and the Scholastic Book Fair.  We will wrap up the month with the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS achievement tests). 

It continues to be a special privilege for all of us at ORLS to share the Gospel with our friends and our community.
