Proclaiming Christ
The church with the trumpets continues to proclaim Our Redeemer
"At the round earth's imagined corners blow
Your trumpets, angels, and arise, arise
From death, you numberless infinities
Of souls, and to your scattered bodies go..."
-John Donne (Holy Sonnet VII)
On the Last Day, angel trumpeters will be sent by Christ to "gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other" (Matt. 24:31). Until then, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church proclaims the Gospel, the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ, that as many as we can reach may be among those who receive eternal life. We are repeatedly invited to press our gifts into service and offer the best we have on behalf of Christ.
"For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?"
(1 Corinthians 14:8)

Our Redeemer strives to proclaim the Gospel in its truth and purity. In our services, in our Bible classes, and in our Christian conversation, we do not soften God's Word of Law: We are all sinners, who deserve God's temporal and eternal punishment. Just as importantly, however, we do not mute God's Word of Gospel: Forgiveness is free and complete in Jesus Christ.
