Multi-Ethnic Ministry of North Texas
Texas is one of the top immigrant destinations in the United States and in recent years has resettled more refugees than any other state. The Dallas-Fort Worth area, in particular, is home to many of these new residents, some of whom may need help learning English, navigating education and health and transportation systems, assimilating to American culture, and adjusting to being far from their family and homeland.
In response to these needs, the Multi-Ethnic Ministry of North Texas was created on July 1, 2017, by founding partners Rev. Dr. Solomon Yadessa, Our Redeemer Lutheran in Dallas, Faith Lutheran in Plano, and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Texas District. The MEMNT quickly grew as it began reaching out to welcome refugees and immigrants, share the Gospel, and offer them assistance, and it has served people from countries including China, the Congo, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iraq, Mexico, Nepal, the Philippines, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, Turkey, and the United States.
Mission
Make disciples of all nations by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus and ministering to the spiritual, physical, social, and emotional needs of new Americans in north Texas.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
