Pastor Brent McGuire grew up in Coleman, TX, a small town about 50 miles south of Abilene. He earned a bachelor of arts from Harvard University. After one year at the University of Texas Law School, he decided a legal career was not for him. So, from law to Gospel, he went on to prepare for the ministry of the Word at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, earning both a masters of divinity and a masters of sacred theology. In 2004 God called Brent back to the Lone Star State to serve as pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, of which he has been the senior pastor since 2008. Pastor McGuire loves spending time with his wife Jill and daughters Annie and Erin; teaching Latin and leading book clubs at the school; playing tennis and the piano; and listening to old radio shows. He also regards himself a serious Swiftie (Jonathan, not Taylor).
