Pastor McGuire grew up in Coleman, TX, a small town about 50 miles S.S.E. of Abilene. After high school, Pastor McGuire left the wild expanse of West Texas for the quaint villages and majestic shores of New England. From Harvard University he earned a bachelor of arts before returning to his homeland to study law at the University of Texas. After just one year, however, he decided a legal career was not for him. So, from law to Gospel, he went on to prepare for the ministry of the Word at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, earning both a masters of divinity and a masters of sacred theology. In 2004 God called Brent back to the Lone Star State to serve as pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, of which he has been the senior pastor since 2008. He and his beautiful wife Jill have two children, Annie and Erin, each a spark of joy and inspiration. Pastor McGuire is also a motorist.
